This is the final week for the Emperor's new clothes. I have spent most of this week tiding up my sketchbook and completing my statement for assessment. Hand in today.
I did attempt to hand bind my final drawings into a book with small amounts of text from the story. I am happy with the illustrations and the layout but not the binding. This was in addition to my final artwork so it is not a disaster. Given more time I would have bound it differently or made a blurb book. I still might do that anyway.

Week 6 to 07/10/11
I have been continuing to think about the full story I have been trying to tell and think that the final part has been neglected.
- I have constructed the lie with the first piece relating to the fabric samples on the loom.
- Shown the tainted illusion of the finished clothing
- and shown the lie and the visible illusion at it's peak and on the brink of it being shattered.
This week I have been considering the text of the story and working with some final images from my earlier shattered glass prints.
I am working on making a book to accompany the earlier pieces which bullet points the key moments in the story.
I still have some work to do with this. hand bind and choose the final text.
Week 5 to 02/10/11
This week a have been working on how to display my final pieces.
There are three pieces making up one piece of work. I want to tell the story in the form of constructing the lie or illusion as the invisible fabric is woven on the loom.
This piece is made up of fabric swatches which are placed around text from the fairytale.

It is intended to show how the lie is construction through fear and the power of suggestion made by the weavers. Each piece is similar but not identical because it is and individual who is weaving their own illusion and constructing their own fragment of the overall lie.
The next piece is a set of three sets of clothes. this piece shows how as the lie gowns the clothes take shape in the mind's eye of each individual.

The final piece is a mixed media print of the clothes on the Emperor. It is at the exact moment when the child states that he is naked and the illusion shatters. This image is a frozen point in time when the clothes begin to disappear with everyone's realisation of the truth.
